ComicTherapy: Group Session is a hilarious spoof on a group counseling session, but with a twist. It actually is intended to give the audience not only a million laughs, but to make them feel good about themselves and their role in society.
The show stars three-time Pinnacle Award for his performance winner Brad Tassell. Brad is not only the award winning best-selling author of Don’t Feed the Bully, which is read by thousands of students a year in schools worldwide, but a 24-year veteran of the comedy stage. He was Carnival Cruise lines highest rated comedian. He also is in the Behavioral Science Department at Western Kentucky University finishing up a Masters in Counseling and Gifted Education.
Comic Therapy: Group Session uses material and techniques that have been road tested on audiences worldwide. Before the show, group session participants (the audience) can decorate Thera-cookies that will be analyzed at the end of the session. There is a lot you can find out about yourself and other group members from how they decorate their cookie!
The show begins with the clock on the wall marking the start of the session, and announcements from the last session and for informational purposes are presented. This introduction is not only funny it helps prepare the group for the important work to come.
The Session: There are many developmental skills listed on the board that Brad will help all members attain before the clock signals the end of our hour.
